Today tattoos are like assholes.

However, I'd get a tattoo if someone close to me had some sort of tragedy.

The rest I see around is just dumb ass patterns that you think look gangsta (or whatever the retard word is). I look at most of the people with tattoos and think - uneducated, probably unemployed, left school at year 10 or worse, working class, housing commission, destined to be in the same job forever........ These are just my thoughts. And the thoughts of most in my age group (old).

For what reason do you get tattoos? Alcohol/drugs; seemed like a good idea at the time; in memory of a loved one (that IS a good reason to get one I think); my dumbass mates have one and I have to fit in (but I think it makes me an individual!! lol) to be cool/accepted; my "heritage"; I like carving up my body; bikie; I wear a baseball cap; my profession; in the armed forces so HAVE to get one?

The giant colourful messes that I see on people's arms makes me think, what were you trying to achieve here, cause I have nfi. Which is fine as maybe it means something to them. If that's the case why not keep it that way, ie hidden. if it's out in the open you have to believe people wil look and think, "what is that"??!! Why not something on your inner forearm or out of sight? As to one's that protrude onto your neck, or on your neck, well, to me that is just a freak show!
