Hey guys

Had some bad news last week just after my birthday that 3 of my pistons are f**k** and need to be rebuild....it's going to cost me an arm and a leg and I don't know what I should do.. My mechanic has gone and said that I should go for a sti short block and spend the extra money machining the heads and this is way over $6000 mark easy just wondering is there another option in this or is that solution that my mechanic said the only best option

Let me know in what u guys know in this stuff as that's a lot of money to play around with and don't wanna get screwed over in the long run sick of spending money want something done right and it being strong to handle the power if that makes sense

Cheers Peter

Speak to Kris (sku81). He can source and sell you almost any kind of subaru motor you want.

Which way you go, depends how what you want. Do you want it as it was before? or do you want to build it stronger, and be able to handle more power in the future?

I bet you get off on strangers blowing on your face don't you.

Speak to leemo. He will build a quality engine for you and won't exploit you like some engine builders will.

Not sure if it's something that would interest you, but you can buy a Manley light weight billet stroker kit from Maperformance for a little over $2k. Maybe instead of spending $6k on a 2nd hand engine you could rebuild yours and make it a lot tougher in the process.
This is what I'm doing with mine as soon as the budget allows :D

Speak to Kris from Rising Sun Subaru. gets motors cheap. MSR got mine from him and was really quick to respond too.

i needed my car everyday and had to go with the quickest = cheapest option. So ended up getting an ej207 short motor. i now only wish i had the funds and went with rebuilding a 257 with forged bits. but the 207 is still a good and decent motor if not aiming for high amounts of power. MSR told me 207 is good for a safe 250kw atw.
