Should be fine as long as you go for a standard replacement. Something like a K&N Panel Filter rather than a Pod Filter, and you shouldnt attract any unwanted attention. :)

I bought a dry simota panel filter which looks similar to the k&n but blue and dry... no oil
Works well.

The Repco standard air filters are fine..
I use them every service.. dont need anything else. Save your money for something else.

I say go the K&N Panel Air Filter. They are more expensive then a normal filter you'd buy from repco/supercheap but these do last a life time of a car. Every service just clean the filter using a K&N Cleaning kit which provide chemical to wash and lubricate the filter. Im pretty sure there are many people who say they feel the difference with a K&N filter, not a whole lot but its definetely improved power, also possible change to induction sound.

^^ What kind of lubrication are we talking about tho as the rexy AFM's dont like oiled filters..

And im not sure i'd agree on the performance increase.. every tuner would be selling and recommending K&N filters and products if they actually made a difference to a standard 'cheaper' filter like the Repco one.
I asked all these questions before i got my car tuned, and the Repco filter was all that was needed.. unless you were going for 250+kw, at which point you would ditch the stock box and filter ;)

Cosworth sell a dry panel filter.. for around $80 I think....
Tunehouse are official distributors.. (02) 9557 4000 so they should sell it I would think..

This stuff Mikey Image It basically keeps the filter moist to catch and crap. Not soaking in it but enough. None of this would going through the AFM either. I think you can only spray one side of the filter with it also.

I just recomeded K&N because My self and family members and mates have always used it because it is just a 1 off payment and then you pretty much never have to change it again. Maintaining will keep its life long and strong. Always had good experience with them and never nothing negative so its why i stick with it.
