I have seen them, in fact i have a customer who has two of them (who is also a good friend of mine), and they are 'OK' at best.

They are WAY too thin to be used for sub applications in my opinion and need about 4-5 extra layers of fibreglass.

Put it this way, my custom boxes end up being about 8-9mm thick, with about 8 or so layers of fibreglass, and strong enough to be stood on without flexing. These eBay ones are about 3mm thick, and can be pressed/flexed with your hands - and have no solid way to mount the sub.

My mate/customer has bought them just for the mould, and we are currently in the process of adding extra layers to the mould for better strength, as well as a solid 16mm MDF ring to mount the sub to.

By the way, i have a decent fibreglass corner enclosure for the left hand side of a GC8 that i'd be willing to sell. A bit more expensive than that one on eBay unfortunately, but i KNOW its solid and better quality, as well as also being bigger, with more internal volume.

I initially sourced and bought it for my dads car before he sold the car to me, and i wont be using it.

Will post a couple of pics of it later if you're interested?

And its a bit of a messed up setup ...

Heres some pics of it. Please excuse my half disassembled boot! lol

You can see inside it has internal bracing, as well as it being bigger than the eBay ones (which are quite small).

Considering its size, i'd prefer to get it couriered, so it doesnt get damaged. I'm guessing around $30 or so. If its anymore than that, i'll cover the difference. ;)

What model Alpine Type R? Let me know, then I'll do some investigation and let you know for sure. :)
