Anyone work for Sony and have an idea on when its going to be back up?
I'm sitting at home doing SFA, and i need PSN back :/ Been training up on Zombies, now wanna play in a group.
From what ive read, it was sposed to be back up this week, but im checking it twice a day.. and its still 'undergoing maintenance'.

Also, on a side note about this.. has anyone had their credit card information used to buy random shit? (I havent, thankfully). They reckon something like 24.7 million peoples information has been stolen.. Can't trust anything you sign up to these days.

Any news on this? My little son is complaining! Go outside and chase snakes you lazy little so and so.

Anyway it seems from my readings that in some suburbs in Oz it's up and in others it is not. Bloody hopeless. And what do you do to get it going? Re-set passwords or something? How do you do that?

AFAIK, the whole of Australia is up. Simply sign in to PSN and it will download system update, then get you to reset your password. Easy as!
Been up for the last week :)

I was reading stuff as late as yesterday with people saying there's isn't up yet, and other sydney-siders saying it is. Are they NOT doing something correctly?

When my son goes into it, the same error message appears that has been there for weeks. I think it has slightly changed, but nonetheless the "You're farked" message appears!

So the standard error message you get doesn't mean it ISN'T up? We should just start from scratch and ignore the message? I'll have to watch what he is doing to see if he is signing in correctly. Any other tips?

Thats odd because Sony specifically said that it would be 'region based' and in their terms, Australia as a whole is a region. But happy to be and stand corrected, as i havent read much into it because ive had no need.

I think you just need to do the update, so try this and let me know if anything changes:

1. Turn on PS3
2. Login to any user with no parental controls
3. Navigate to Systems > System update.
4. Accept any terms and conditions that come up, and download and install.
5. PS3 updates, and restarts itself.
6. Try and login to online user account now, and hopefully it should ask you to enter a new password.

Sony also should have sent you an email to the registered email address with a link to change the password through a web browser.

Let me know how you go.
