I'll add more to this tomorrow lol. But if anyone has any info, then i want to hear it. Recommended? Yes? No? Good points, bad points, etc etc...

Good point: Cheap

Bad points: Not many tuners want to touch them, you still retain the AFM, not the best option for a subaru engine

Good Middle of the Range ECU

Good Points:
Engine Response Increase by alot
Engine Smoothness increase by alot
Way more Torque than factory
Tunable to any setting
Able to change the AFM out for a Z32 one (Stronger with Wider map range)
Datalogit is accessable
Plug and Play on default tune (not recommended but can be done)

Bad Points
Now discontinued by Apexi
Many Tuners prefer to go MAP over MAF and apexi doesnt support a MAP
No Anti-lag
No Launch Control (Have heard these features being used albiet in a dodgey way.)


The PowerFC is an Amazing little unit, they can be found for 600-1000 secondhand depending. The Features you get on a PowerFC are incredible, You retain every stock sensor on the car and can even check most faults out on the hand controller. They allow the Upgrade of airflow meters as well.

Now apart from the apparent power gains your going to receive just GETTING a custom tune for the car, the engine will run so much smoother than the factory tune, this was on of the most noticable things the ECU will offer you. It will feel like a modern day engine! The power gains to be had are car depending but on a stock car they say just by getting a tune you will pull 25% more torque and 20% more KW!

In the end its good for anyone wanting to have a reliable ECU and who dont plan on going for 550bhp+ (Airflow Meters become a restriction)
