Found this app not long ago which works really well.
It's basically like SMS but over the net with extra features to communicate between Iphone, Android, BlackBerry or Nokia.

Its free on Android but cheap anyway for the others.

Nice! On iPhone they have 'TextMe' which uses the data plan for SMS and MMS. I'll download this and see how it goes! :D

Edit: So its only useful if they have the app installed?

WhatsApp is good, but if you use a proxy through wireless, it doesnt work.
95% of the time im connected through the proxy, so its completely useless for me :p

Lol I guess it does have some limitations.
What about Torque? But u need a Bluetooth or wifi obd2 adapter

Depends what kind of use u want out of the app...
I use whatsapp and its unreal!! so easy to use. Tapatalk is a regular too easy to view RexNuts online rather than through safari...
i play a few games on my phone too like Angry birds :)

3g watchdog to monitor data usage.
Tunein radio to listen to internet radio.
