Hey guys,

Just asking for a mate of mine. His engine is quite similar to this

Image

Question is, there is 3 breather pipes going to the standard air box and he wants to put new piping and then a pod (as all p platers do lol)
Are any of those 3 hoses a vacuum hose? If not then he should just be able to disconnect those hoses, tuck them away so long as they are not blocked off yes?

Thanks

Its been done and tested. Removing the standard airbox and replacing with a pod, nets like 1kw extra after 5000rpm, and totally kills the car down low.

Its like giving a non turbo car, turbo lag.. ie, the lack of power he already has, will take longer to be at its max.

If he wants a pod, remove the filter from inside the airbox, but leave it in places, and run a bit of pipe to where hes removed the intake, and have a pod in that.

Well tell him he'll sound faster, but look slower at his traffic light grand prix.

But to the original question, yes they're all breathers, and all needed.

He needs an intake like this.

Add the necessary fittings for breather hoses & build cold air enclosure around filter.

The cheapest way would be to fit pod straight to TB & run breathers into a catch can (home made bunnings spec for extra cred)
