Hey guys, quick question.

Not sure if this exists, but heres my problem.

The stock subaru tyre iron is a 19mm socket, for use on the stock nuts. Now, i have McGard nuts, which come with their own tool. The tool requires the use of a 21mm socket.

Is there such thing as an adapter to allow my 19mm tyre iron to use the 21mm nut tool?

Thanks!

Fairly sure there isnt any adapter of any kind.. you're just going to have to keep the breaker bar in the car :p

I found a US site that specifically make these aDapters. But at $30 postage, I'll just buy a cheap collapsible 4-way wrench and leave it in my car.

Just buy a $5 wheel brace from supercheap & throw the stock one in the bin!

There was a Toyota part (w/partnumber) mentioned in the w3xn3t thread, 21mm wrench from a landcruiser or similar, cost ~$10

Quote:
Go to a wreckers, look for 4WD Nissan's (can't remember if it's Patrol's, Navara's or what), they use 21mm nuts - raid the tool bag for the wrench.

Edit - do the above or go to Toyota dealer and order part number 090331C100, 21mm wrench for $9.50.

Ordered one of these today. Set me back $11.55. He mumbled something about it being a 'tool' (vs. a 'part').

I'll take a photo of it for you when it arrives (a few days)

PS Happy Birthday for yesterday mate

Ok, so I didn't take a picture of the brace as I stuffed it away. Being larger(longer) than the factory item, it doesn't fit in the Subaru pouch, but if you angle it, you can still close it and just have about 3" of the tip stick out of the top corner.
As mentioned differences include:
-21mm socket (vs 19mm from factory)
-Greater length for that extra torque on tight nuts.
-Made in Japan - so you know it's good. Possibly even 'overnight parts from Japan' F&F stylez!
-Has patend-pending design which incorporates a thinned end for removing that centre hub-cap style things off your hideous 20" chromies, or the hubcaps from your mothers camry.

Pics of the free stickers that came with it. Might stick these on my door, if I can find a spot!
(I think one of them is just for shipping stuff, but I thought I'd throw it up anyway)
