Just been quoted $1321.81 with all mods, is anyone doing any better than that?

Trying to save a penny :D

Thats a good price Mikey 60% obviously, how long have you been with them and what mods do you have, Im thinking that price for a sti with shitloads of mods isnt to bad, but yours sounds better :)

Been with them since April. Switched from JustCar who wanted $2300 :p
My excess i left as default, dont even know what it is..

My mods list list is tiny in comparison to yours.. I have the following covered:
- VF34 turbo
- Silicon intake
- STi TMIC
- $1999 audio gear ($2000+ adds more to premiuim lol)
- $3000 wheels
- front lip
- suspension + braces etc
- rear sti spoiler

Thats pretty much it i think.. But i also live in a country town now, which dropped it $350 :)
Looking at buying some land so i can rip it up lol.. cruise down for a free rally day haha

I pay $1100 with nrma and they have advised me that they cover all mods as long as they are leagal and the car is roadworthy. my excess is $600 thinking about it, it might be interesting to see how much cheaper it is if i had a $1000 excess. might be well worth it in the long run

Leemo, cry me a river, shit mate all you guys use to give it to every one, big note yourself and never went out of your way to help anyone . I commend you on your engine building prowess and having a quick EJ , you just come across the Interweb as a conceded prick, thats the thing with the web tho , your probably a top bloke, don't take too much to heart champ.

Mate the only reason I'm stern on here is because after ppl trying to give you shit all the time you sorter get over it. I just used to give ppl reality checks on w3xn3t because what they where saying made absolute no sence and there hp figures where fudged to the max aka auto tech was a winner for that back in the day. I just feel sorry for the guys gettin kicked off w3xn3t because they think there me hahaha. Stupid megatrip!

Thats the thing you should have enough confidence in what you do just to roll with tha punches and have a bit of a laugh, no one like someone that thinks they are better than every one else ,put yourself up on a pedestal people only want to knock you down ,just the way shit works. Giving people reality checks just comes across as arrogance , but like I said your prob a top bloke.

The interweb is unfortunately a great place for people to misunderstand each other, as well as a great place to let some steam off.
All parties mentioned above are great people and hopefully anything thats been said has been misunderstood or is a bit of unneeded steaming which will follow with an apology.
I agree with not reading into things too much though, especially on the interwebs.

Well said Mikey. I went through the whole learning process as well and eventually realized that what you said is common on every forum and moderators deal with that in different ways.

I pay just over $2000 due to the suburb I live in being supposedly bad :(
Strange though that nothing has ever happened to my cars in this area...had thieves smash windows and steal stuff while visiting bondi junction & surry hills ...

I actually moved my insurance when i came home from near liverpool to surry hills and the rate dropped by a few hundred dollars. then i moved 5 streets away from surry hills and it went back up. go figure. not sure why where i love now is more expensive than surry hills. im actually further away from redfern etc

So yeah back to insurance, I just switched to NRMA too, paying $860pa but my excess is $2k. The way I see it I have been driving for 17 years and never made a claim so why pay so much premium? I have had this $2k excess for about 4 years now so I have already saved myself about $2k so even if I did claim now I'd be in front.

The whole mods issue concerns me, saying they cover any legal mods is a very broad and could be interpreted many different ways. There is a lot of things on my car that would probably be deemed illegal if it meant the insurance company could get out of making a payout. I look forward to the time when my car is worth less and I will just run with 3rd party prop damage.

I might try that next time Joel, I agree though with the mods thing, touchy subject.

Quen10, about time :) jokes, they seem to be the fun police, as soon as we get on there "Leemo myself, Kev and a few others" and pull up people for giving out incorrect info or have claims to have this hp with x turbo ect ect that cannot be reaches we pull em up, for that we get bared.....oh well we are all on there now and lets see if the mods can find out whop we are ;)
As Leemo said there are a few innocent members getting bared lately...hahah only going to go one way if they keep that up.

Question for Rexnut mods, do you guys talk to w3xn3t mods or are there any w3xn3t mods moderators on rexnuts?? didn't make scene did it :/

I personally don't use w3xn3t. I think Brad does now and then.
There is a mod over there that comes on here too, but I won't mention names.
And no I dont talk to any of the mods there - I have no reason to.

I frequent all the car sites, but they have made it very clear that we are not liked over there.

Dave , they gave moderator rights to a certain individual and it went straight to his big head... when i called him a hypocrite , he cried to megahead and they slapped a 14 day ban on me..

Well all I can say is that it is not a forum with a freedom of speech. No one can have a opinion unless it suits megatrip or some other wanker with to much authority over there. All I can say is that I hope REXNUTS takes off and becomes a better forum and get more attention. From what I can see it looks like it is heading that way.
