Its pretty straight forward, You have to remove the grill to get to all the screws tho, After that its simply undo'ing screws. Once you get ur new ones in, test the height of the beams, there should be a screw u do up to make them aim further up and undo it to make them aim towards the ground. Always start by unplugging the battery, then the wires in the back of the headlight.

If you were near Jimboomba Area I could help you, knock it over in 10mins.

As to guides, Its pretty basic so I don't think you'll find any.

The Grill should be attached via Clips, That you stick a flat head screw driver down the holes to access, DO NOT USE BRUTE FORCE on the grill, else you'll most likely snap it.

Let me know if you need any help, Ill pm you my mobile number as well if you get stuck doing it.

All that Im fine with just the hole plugging it in basically as these are jap spec hid so they come with ballasters and neeed to be re wired that's what I'm worried about

Oh right, well here is a diagram

Image

Quote:
wiring the lowbeam lights (aka the HID ballasts) at the headlight switch itself instead of the stock 9007 headlight connectors. The high beams can be wired to the stock connector. This allows the low beams to REMAIN ON when you turn on your highbeams or when you flash to pass. Here is a diagram that I stole from a great HID web resource (Automotive lighting FAQs ) . If you look at the WRX headlight wiring diagram you can find this point under the steeting column. just tap in there and run a trigger wire to the ballast relays. If you have any questions please let me know.

Another tip, is go buy a soldering gun, Invaluable to any DIY people. Buy some heatshrink and a heatgun as well. And 4 rolls of Electrical tape.

Total cost = 60 dollars
Getting the Job done right = Priceless :P

A note on underbonnet electricals, Make sure all connections are soldered and heatshrinked, then add a layer of Electrical tape. You want it pretty much water-proof. NO exposed wires or connections (fire hazard)

I reckon there's no need to disconnect the battery since the power only triggers when ignition is on and you flick the switch.
You can verify using a tester
