G'day, I recently purchased my first wrx 1996 gf8 hatchback. It's been lowered on super low king springs.
Love the lowered look but the shocks/struts do nothing at all. They have had it for sure. Bottoms out on the slightest ripple.

Do some coilovers fit both sedan and wagon? Can't seem to find much info on what to buy or where.

Looking forward to getting this sorted because the rest of the car is my dream come true. I love it!

Running lenso 18 inch rims which just ads to my drama.

Hope someone can help me.. cheers, garf

Hey mate, one of the vendors on here, Car Mods Australia may be able to help you out and source some parts?

17's and coilovers here. The main problem is that the lower the profile, the less compliance (read softness) of the sidewall. with softened coilovers and the afore-mentioned 17's I can feel those dragon's-teeth as I drive over them, I kid you not. The thing is, if you soften the suspension, you get a smoother ride at the expense of more body roll. There are two options that I can see. Move to 17's or (GASP!) change to chromies. Being heavier, they will soak up more of the jolt.

It depends what you want from your car.

I was looking around for a car for ages.. fell for this one and can handle a hard(ish) ride due to wheels. Just loved the look but, NOT at the expense of hearing those major thuds as it bottoms out on just about everything. need something I can adjust to suit my needs. would rather rebuild an 'up market' set than buy crap because it's new.
It's quite a fast car at full tilt with a vf22 turbo FMIC etc.

Thanks heaps for your feedback.. considering every opinion that I hear at the moment. It is my daily driver and my pride and joy.

are there any coilovers that fit a gf8 and decent quality that come up second hand? or is buying new the only real option?

kind regards, garf
