Are there gains to be had with aftermarket Uel headers on gc8's around the 200awkw area? What Do they allow with tuning that the stock headers don't? cheers

Yes 10-15kw after a tune, they flow better, more even pulses, allows for better scavenging on the exhaust stroke, thus resulting in a clean change for the next combustion.

Any ones in particular Michael? And does the above only apply to 200kW+ as he asked? Or all GC8s?

Soon as you have a VF turbo, then there are gains to be made, turbo needs to be ported to match the headers too.

Use Kando dynamics off ebay, they are good and strong, and that design rest sell are all out of the same factory.

What do they allow you to do with the tune? More timing?

I have a friend who got ripped off when he bought a car. sold as a 1997 GF8. Turns out it was origionally a 1.6L front wheel drive thing and converted. It had a liberty RS engine in it but that blew a big end after about 2 months and is slowly falling apart. Believe it has a 94 wrx engine in it now, bought from SSS Automotive.
Having a problem on boost, I cant really explain it, kind of like surging or misfiring or something, but I dont think it is a miss.

It has always had this problem though

Has some unequal length headers fitted and a small turbosmart BOV.
Standard TD05..(16g?)

I dont think the valves for the charcoal canister are setup right either.

Any ideas?

Thanks

On another note, we both bought the same headers off someone for a decent price, brand is Nikkeru Supootsu or something, do you know if these are any good? Mine are ceramic coated.
