Get rid of that small and restrictive factory intake pipe! Go for a new high flow silicon replacement.

They come in Black, Blue or Red.

Wait.. you cut it in the middle? You should be able to take the metal plugs out and bend and push it under the manifold without cutting. Can you explain what you did?

Well the intake on my turbo was 3inch so i got a bit of 3inch reduced back to 2.5. so i cut it in half way pretty much, and kept the half with the 90 degree bend and used a piece of pipe to join from this piece of hose to my 2.5inch

All these little stories that keep popping up mate ... I'm surprised you got 211kw with that turbo ... Pretty much defeats the purpose of getting a 1 piece if you go cutting it in half

The standard intake that goes under the manifold is like 2inch or something only just squeezes under

It goes from 3inch silicon hose to my 2.75inch adapter then back to 3inch onto turbo. there couldnt be that much restriction.

Different brands have different fitment, perhaps the brand he bought has fitment issues? I know I didnt have to cut anything on mine, except to trim down the AFM side and the Turbo side to make it fit perfectly snug and give the elbow more room next to the powersteering pump.. This is all standard tho, just as you trim your radiator hoses to make fitment a little better.

For fitment I just took out all the aluminium adapters and then using a bit of muscle pushed the hose under the manifold, twisting it as needed and using the handle of a plastic mallet to push the nipples down as they come across the manifold. The hardest part in this is getting the Blow off return feed (bitch of a spot) back onto the new silicon intake.. I ended up using a flat head screwdriver and some dishwashing liquid on the inside of the hose to get it to slide on nicely.

Some people take the manifold off, and depending on brand you might have too.. I did not.
